Description
English: Trent and Mersey Canal at Stretton, Staffordshire. The Trent and Mersey Canal was surveyed in 1758 and fully opened through its 93.5 mile length in 1777. The engineer, until his death in 1772 was James Brindley - the job being completed by his cousin. (I'm looking for his name). The section through Burton dates from 1770.
