[edit]
Description
English: Turton Cottages, Roxby. Dated 1858. The building comprises two ranges of cottages connected by this central block with an elaborate horseshoe shaped door for access to the rear. The estate of Roxby was brought from the Boyntons by J. Turton, Esq., M.D., physician to George III, who died in 1806 without issue. His estates were bequeathed to Edmund Peters, who thereupon assumed the name and arms of Turton.
