English: Tynemouth Station Former south facing bay platform at Tynemouth Station. These platforms would have served British Rail services to Newcastle via North Shields. Tynemouth station was converted to Tyne & Wear Metro operation in stages, the services via Jesmond starting in 1980 with completion of the network to St James via North Shields and Monument in 1982. |
