English: U.S. Sailors and Coast Guardsmen board a rigid hull inflatable boat with members of the Cape Verde coast guard and maritime police from guided missile frigate USS Simpson (FFG 56) before a suspected vessel boarding April 2, 2012, in the Atlantic Ocean. Simpson was supporting African Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership operations, a branch of Africa Partnership Station (APS) 2012. APS is an international security cooperation initiative facilitated by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa. |
