Summary[edit]

Description The Roger’s Wildlife Area is also managed with tools other than prescribed fire. Food plots and other plantings are present and land modifications were made to manage water. Care must be taken as to limit soil disturbance and fire and/or physical damage to man-made land features and improvements such as shelterbelt plantings, nest boxes, levees, and fence lines. The property is highly valued by local sportspeople and hunting occurs here. Early goose hunting season may be open during periods when prescribed fire would be the most optimal for implementation. Fire Management staff must take special care as to not disturb the area, as well as time their burns accordingly or take the appropriate actions to provide for visitor safety. The USFWS would like to thank its cooperators for implementing a successful burn! Photo credit: Shane Theall, USFWS.
