Summary[edit]

Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer minelayer USS Lindsey (DM-32) at Kerama Retto, Okinawa (Japan) in April 1945 after losing 20 m of her bow when hit by two kamikaze aircraft on 12 April 1945. Note how the remains of the forecastle deck has been pushed upwards by the force of the explosion of one of the aircraft. She is carrying out initial repairs before proceeding to a dockyard. The lifting gear rigged on the foremast appears to be removing her fire control radar from the director. She is further damaged abaft the funnels.
