ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 15, 2015) – Command Master Chief Jean Heitzman, command master chief of the Knighthawks of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 136, takes a photo of the fiscal year 2016 Chief Petty Officers following a chief pinning ceremony in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Forty-four chiefs were pinned by fellow chiefs in a traditional ceremony in the hangar bay aboard Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
