Description
English: TAKORADI, Ghana (Feb. 12, 2008) Africa Partnership Station (APS) instructor Chief Master-At-Arms Felix Rivera of Coral Springs, Fla. is handcuffed and checked for weapons by a student from the Ghanaian Port Authority during a lesson in the advanced port security course. Rivera is assigned to the Sigonella, Sicily detachment of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Security Training Assistance and Assessment Team (STAAT) Atlantic. Training teams from various U.S. and European military commands, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations including Project Handclasp, are embarked aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry and the high-speed vessel (HSV) 2 Swift for a seven-month deployment to enhance cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services in West and Central Africa and the Gulf of Guinea.
