BAGHDAD - Construction Electrician 2nd Class Robinson Inchiparambil and Construction Electrician Constructionman Ronnel J. Philpott, Seabees with Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 21, set up power for the team's improvised work area during the early stages of construction for a large, 30-foot-by-60-foot structure being built for the Special Operations Task Force Central in Baghdad June 7. The building will contain housing and offices for the SOTF's Multipurpose-Canine handlers, and the surrounding area will be made to facilitate training and kenneling for the Canines. The eight Seabees attached to the SOTF's headquarters near Baghdad have provided numerous other services for the SOTF since March, when their detachment arrived to support Combine Joint Special Operations Task Force Arabian Peninsula in Balad, Iraq. Only 3 months into their nearly eight-month tour, the SOTF's appreciation for the Seabees' hard work is clear. "The Seabees are some of the most energetic troops I have witnessed during my six rotations in Iraq," said SOTF-C Commander, Army Lt. Col. John Prairie. "You can trust that if a Seabee built it, it's going to last. They're absolutely impressive." (US Army photo by SPC Victor J. Ayala) |
