Summary

[edit]
Description Window of the building designed by Pritzker-laureate Paulo Mendes da Rocha to be the new home of the National Coach Museum, which comprises a collection of ceremonial horse-drawn vehicles having belonged to the Portuguese monarchy, from the 17th century onwards. The building is finished, but as of the end of 2013 it served only as storage for the original museum, which is located nearby. It is not clear whether the building will ever be inaugurated, since the current neo-liberal government, which is at best indifferent to culture, considers it a mistake and has indicated that it has other priorities (perhaps auctioning off the whole thing?)
