Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bletchley - Oxford line at Verney Junction
This part of the old LNWR line is disused and is moth-balled, meaning, up to recently, no active measures have been taken to dismantle it, and none to preserve it either. Now some vegetation clearance is in hand, as a reopening for passenger traffic is mooted for some years ahead. The platforms of the old station are visible. There were two junctions here, one, a LNWR route, facing to the right ahead towards Banbury, and the other, trailing from the left, a Metropolitan and GCR route towards Aylesbury. This route came in behind the platform on the left, formerly an island platform. This was the most northerly point reached by the Metropolitan Railway, miles from anywhere of any size.
