  • Significance: The bridge sits in the heart of the Hopewell Historic District. The district is characterized by 19th century residential, agricultural, public, commercial, and industrial buildings clustered along a 19th century road network. It sits within this historic transportation network and contributed to the significance of the district. Built in 1907, the crossing was commissioned by the Chester County Commissioners at the insistence of local residents who requested a bridge be erected at the fording with Tweed Creek crossed Hopewell Road...
