Deutsch: Der Straßentrakt des St. Carolusheimes an der Adresse Gentzgasse 104 im 18. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Währing und davor der Norbert-Liebermann-Park mit dem Liebermann-Denkmal. Die Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom hl. Karl Borromäus übernahmen 1877 das von Gräfin Wenckheim-Zichy gegründete „Greisenasyl“ in Wien im 3. Bezirk, Dietrichgasse 10. Ein Jahr später wurde von der k.k. Stadthalterei die weitere Benützung des Gebäudes aus sanitären Gründen nicht mehr gestattet. Die Schwesterngemeinschaft erwarb daraufhin zwei einstöckige Häuser in der Gentzgasse (damals hieß die Gentzgasse noch Herrengasse) und im Oktober 1879 wurde das Greisenasyl dorthin verlegt. Zur Erweiterung des Greisen-Asylheimes kauften die Schwestern um die Jahrhundertwende angrenzende Grundstücke. Durch Zu- und Umbau gewann der Gebäudekomplex 1908 die heutige Größe: [1], [2]. Unter anderem erfolgten im Jahr 1905 von Josef Schmalzhofer (1835–1920) Aus- und Umbauarbeiten: [3], [4]. Im Jahr 1976 erhielt das Greisenasyl aktuelle Bezeichnung „St. Carolusheim“. Der Park vor dem St. Carolusheim war namenlos bzw. war in den Aumannplatz integriert. Mit Gemeinderatsausschuss vom 25. Oktober 1991 erhielt er die Bezeichnung Norbert-Liebermann-Park und am 22. Mai 1992 wurde zu Ehren von Norbert Liebermann ein Gedenkstein, bestehend aus einem Waldviertler Granitblock mit Porträtrelief auf Bronzetafel, ostseitig im Park enthüllt: [5]. |
