Deutsch: Westansicht des Schlosses Retzhof in der steiermärkischen Marktgemeinde Wagna.
Das Anwesen war ursprünglich ein bäuerlicher Hof, der zu einem Edelsitz ausgebaut wurde. Bischof Martin Brenner, eine der markantesten Persönlichkeiten der Gegenreformation in Österreich, ließ ihn zu seinem Alterssitz ausbauen, in dem er auch im Jahr 1616 starb. Die offene, giebelgekrönte, klassizistische Säulenhalle an der Nordwestfront des Schlosses wurde von Pompejus Graf Brigido zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts in Auftrag gegeben. Heute gehört das Schloss dem Land Steiermark, das hier ein Volksbildungsheim unterhältː [1]. English: West view of Retzhof Castle in Austria. |
