At the end of RochesterRow towards Victoria Street is the Grey Coat School^ aquaint building of 1698, with two statues in front in thecostume of the children for whom it was founded. In thenarrow streets near this is Tothill Fields Prison, built 1836.The gate of the earlier prison here, called Bridewell, is pre-served in the garden. At the end of Victoria Street, opposite the entrance toDeans Yard, is a very picturesque Memorial Column, byScott, in memory of the old Westminster boys killed in theCrimean war; and at the corner of Great George Street is a QUEEN ANNES GATE, fyiyt Fountain (by Teuton and Earp)^ erected in 1865 by Mr.Charles Buxton, in honour of those who effected theabolition of the Slave trade.
