Deutsch: Erläuterung: "Im Jahre 1264 starb Graf Hartmann der Aeltere von Kyburg. Der Sohn seiner Schwester, der nachmalige König Rudolf I, erhielt bei der Erbtheilung die Grafschaft Kyburg. Das Wappen von Kyburg wurde auch von der Laufenburgischen Linie des Hauses Habsburg geführt, nachdem im Jahre 1275 Graf Eberhard! die Tochter Hartmann's geheiratet hatte. Das Kyburger Kleinod war ursprünglich ein Pfauenstoss. Da dieser aber dem oesterreichischen Bindenschilde zugewiesen wurde, so erhielt Kyburg einen neuen Helmschmuck, und zwar den von Habsburg, jedoch in anderer Farbengebung."
