English: Warning of soft sand and mud on the eastern section of the beach at Trefor This is an area of boulder clay cliffs which are being rapidly eroded. The hills in the background are Gurn Goch and Gurn Ddu (gurn, sometimes misspelt as gyrn, means "cone", coch and du are colours - "red" and "black"). |

Another explanation of the name: Gyrn is a mutation of cyrn which is the plural of corn (Welsh for horn), ie. Gyrn Goch a Du means The Red and Black Horns
