Description
English: U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Brayden Yound, 145th Operations Support Squadron, North Carolina Air National Guard, releases from the simulated parachute during a water survival refresher course held at Camp John J. Barnhardt, New London, N.C., Sept. 10, 2016. The aircrew members are pulled behind a jet ski through the water to simulate being dragged by a parachute caught by the wind during a water landing. The attachment point to the parachute has a unique release and practicing a quick detachment is essential to prevent drowning. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Julianne M. Showalter)
