Elevators or platforms, 10 feet by 6 (Tufts new patent,)are operated by steam in each wing, to pass up or downbetween cellar and attic—thus performing all the necessarymoving from one room or story to another in the easiest andmost expeditious manner. The whole of this grand building is devoted exclusivelyto the manufacture of Pianos, and all the interior arrange-ments for the business are on a scale to correspond wdthwhat has already been described. The rough stock is takenin at the lower door, in one wing, and passing up this wing,through the main building, and down the other wing, is de-livered in the warerooms finished—so that almost Itterally, forests enter at one end of the building, and come out per-fect pianos at the other. The entire first floor is filled with the requisite machiaery,such as planers, lathes, all kinds of saws, moulding ma-chines jointers, &c., &c., and exhibit the finest and largestdisplay of machinery iu any one building, occupied as apiano factory, iu the world. Every known improvement hasbeen introduced into the various departments of this manufac-tory, in order to make it and its work as near perfection ashuman skill, employed with the most ample means, canaccomplish. The space in rear of the factory is used as a lumber yard,and has three large drying houses for seasoning lumber. Inthis yard and dry houses are kept constantly on hand about1,500,000 feet of the very best of the different kinds of woodused in the construction of pianos. No fires of any kind are allowed in this building, eitherday or niglit. The eutire edifice is heated by steam andlighted by gas.
