Summary

[edit]
Description Vickers Wellington Mark IAs and ICs of No. 75 (New Zealand) Squadron RAF based at Feltwell, Norfolk (UK), flying in loose formation over the East Anglian countryside in November 1940. The leading aircraft in the formation (s/n P9206, "AA-A") was usually flown by the Squadron's Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader C.E. Kay. The Squadron was originally "The New Zealand Squadron" and became 75 Sqn (NZ) on 4 April 1940. In October 1946, in gratitude for the work done and sacrifices made by its New Zealand aircrew, Britain transferred the squadron number, badge and colours to the Royal New Zealand Air Force. No. 2 Squadron RNZAF was disposing of its Lockheed Ventura bombers at RNZAF Base Ohakea at the time, and so was disbanded and renumbered as No. 75 Squadron RNZAF.
Date Taken in November 1940
