The field in the foreground is the most northerly corner of the former Brackla Airfield (RAF Brackla opened in 1941 as a relief landing ground for RAF Dalcross (now Inverness Airport) and ended its days around 1946 as a scrapyard where Halifax bombers were dismantled). |
