And putting the bagdown on the ground, he stretched himselfout on the grass. It was not long before he was fast asleep.When the little red hen heard his deepbreathing, she took her scissors from herpocket and cut a hole in the bag. She creptout without making any noise. Then sheput a large stone in the bag and sewed upthe hole she had made. When she had donethis, she nodded her head to the sleeping foxand said, Good-bye, Mr. Fox, I am off formy home.
