Summary
[edit]DescriptionWhiteware Quarry - geograph.org.uk - 1801893.jpg |
English: Whiteware Quarry The Portland Stone that was once quarried from the cliffs here is tens of metres above sea level. The next cliff quarry to the west (Dancing Ledge Quarry) is much closer to sea-level as it is on the downthrow side of the Green Point fault. Both quarries ceased operation in the early 20th century and are now used for recreation by rock climbers. |
