Summary[edit]

Description These fire baskets were lit when air strikes were imminent during World War 2. Numering around 60, they were meant to mimic burning streets in Merseyside and lured bombers into dropping their cargo harmlessly. Pity the man who lit them and then had to escape before the planes arrived. Wixhall Moss & Fens Shropshire / Wales border
