Notes
  • Significance: Woodlawn is a two-bay gambrel-roof frame house with rear lean-to facilitating a double-pile plan. Details place construction of the house at circa 1830's, although building forms of the previous century were utilized. Brickwork indicates that an earlier foundation was enlarged and incorporated into the building. Occupied by the Trible family from circa 1870 until 1971, the house is now vacant. As a largely intact tenant or small farmer's dwelling, Woodlawn is an important example of the early domestic architecture of the Chesapeake Bay region.
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: FN-298
  • Survey number: HABS VA-991
  • Building/structure dates: after 1790 Initial Construction
