Historic American Buildings Survey of Indiana and Black and white photographs of Indiana appear appropriate, Towers in Indiana seems better than buildings, as the focus is on the tower, but I left both, though, is there much more that can be done to cat this one ? if not, the buildings should really go. I'm not sure why Category:Buildings in Indiana or Category:Towers in Indiana would be there. Category:Buildings in Indiana is a redundant (great-grand)parent of existing Category:Brick buildings in Indianapolis; Category:Towers in Indiana is a redundant parent of existing Category:Clock towers in Indiana. (And also, Category:Education in Indianapolis, Indiana is redundant to Category:High schools in Indianapolis.) --Closeapple (talk) 21:23, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
well, that's something I don't understand you see, there is a helpfile, at least I think it is a helpfile, which talks about COM:OVERCAT over-catting. Thing is, I think it's like 'over-acting', that there is no such thing, there is just good acting and bad acting :D
I would sort of think that the best of the best for a category should be in that category and easy to find without the extra clicks. Just today I was trying to find a soyuz launch video, and went to use our category system first, failed completely even though I'm not a complete fool (some parts are missing) and had found it easier to use an external search engine to find exactly what I was looking for on the first try.
Now I'm looking at the image and thinking it's a good looking example of a tower, and so both categories would be cool, but I'm no expert on these things so I'd prefer as much input as I can get. But do please go ahead and do as you want with the categories though, it's all good for me.
I think it would be cool to work out if overcat should be a guideline or policy or what have you, I just don't know enough about it. Most of my uploads are in a big category called 'uncategorised' I think (oops)
Oh, please comment here if you could do me a favour, I would love to get some input from people who do this kind of thing all the time. Penyulap 07:00, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
