Actually this is a picture of the carousel at City Park in New Orleans, near the Botanical Gardens. It is on the north side of the city, very close to Lake Pontchartrain and all the way across town from Audubon Park and the Audubon Zoo, which are located along the river on the western end of Magazine St.

Picture must not have been taken by a local, since the carousel at the Audubon Zoo has been gone since before I was born, and I was born in the mid 1970's. This is clearly a 21st century photograph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.87.120.147 (talk • contribs)

  • I note that Flickr photographer "Howie Luvsus" aka "Mark Gstohl" is a local (check out their account; I've been following them on Flickr for years). I also note that the Audubon Institute website does mention a carousel in Audubon Zoo link and photo that seems to match that shown in the photo. Thanks for your feedback, but I have no reason to doubt the photographer's description of location nor the given date of 2008. Look at the photo in the Flickr stream and you will see it one of a series of photos taken at Audubon Zoo on the same day. • Map of Audubon Zoo; note Carousel to right of center. Videos of the Audubon Zoo Carousel can be seen on YouTube. -- Infrogmation (talk) 18:38, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
