Hi Melanom, in case you are new to Commons and not familiar with the license, please take another look at Template:PD-Japan-oldphoto. Whoever the author was and whatever the copyright status once may have been, the copyright itself on any image that was taken before December 31, 1956 in Japan has expired and the image is in public domain. If you are doing the same on other PD-old-Japan images, please kindly stop and remove them all. Thank you. WTCA 17:39, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
