Are there any technical problems with simply using the character ✓? If not, I'll replace the use of images with the use of the character.

I can see it fine in Firefox, I.E. and Opera. — Erin (talk) 03:26, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[回复]

That symbol renders differently from browser to browser. (As I recall, the Opera version looks particularly odd.) In certain applications, it also renders with unpredictable alignment (which also varies depending upon the browser). —Lifeisunfair 03:34, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[回复]
What character? I only see two questionmarks... / Fred Chess 20:50, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[回复]
It's supposed to appear as a checkmark. Evidently, your setup doesn't support this symbol. —Lifeisunfair 23:07, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[回复]

Copyrights[编辑]

Why does it say "copyright" 2005  ?? secar one 11:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[回复]

The icon was created (and copyrighted) in 2005. —David Levy 00:31, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[回复]
I'm not so sure a green check mark can be copyrighted. Sounds more like a PD-Ineligible to me. --Indolences 20:56, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[回复]
Agreed. I have changed all the other checkmark licenses to PD-ineligible. -Siddharth Patil (talk) 22:33, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[回复]

Excess code[编辑]

Since this is used so much, why not cut down the size?

Keep in mind. The generated PNGs are used often, but the SVGs are only read rarely (when the PNGs are generated). Shrinking the SVG file doesn't necessarily make the PNGs smaller, and may in rare cases make it larger. And, every time you modify the SVG file the PNGs all need to be regenerated. Ineligible for copyright[编辑]

I believe this image is too simple to be eligible for copyright, and should be tagged {{PD-ineligible}}. Does anybody object to my changing the licensing? Quadell (talk) 17:31, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[回复]

Nope. ZStoler (talk) 19:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[回复]
I agree with you. I have already changed all the other checkmark licenses to PD-ineligible. -Siddharth Patil (talk) 22:34, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[回复]
While the check by itself is ineligible, the SVG source code ("computer program") is hardly ineligible. Trycatch (talk) 13:59, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[回复]
The computer program is eligible for a patent (as a useful device), but not likely a copyright (as a creative work). Besides, our copyright tags only apply to the visual representation, not the underlying software underneath. Quadell (talk) 15:09, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[回复]
Computer programs (including binary code) are protected by copyright in the US as "literary works", see w:Software copyright#United States. See also w:Wikipedia:Public domain#Fonts for relevant explanation. I also strongly disagree with your second point, copyright tags applies to uploaded files, not to thumbnails generated by MediaWiki. Replace with optimized[编辑]

{{Editprotected}} Please replace with File:OptiYes check.svg. Palosirkka (talk) 20:07, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[回复]

merging all these requests to COM:AN#Edit requests asking to replace protected SVGs take 2. Rd232 (talk) 19:05, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[回复]

Invalid[编辑]

{{edit request|technical=yes}} Please replace this invalid SVG by the manually edited valid OptiYes check.svg. The old COM:AN discussion resulted in a decision to leave valid SVGs alone, preserving any unclear proprietary Inkscape data they might contain, because "optimizing" the size of SVGs is normally pointless.

Rillke's quote in a nutshell: "Valid"  beats "readable"

In this case another editor tackled the "optimized" version with a text editor arriving at a valid SVG. After adding encoding="UTF-8" the W3C validator reports valid without warning. I've tagged about a dozen of these Opti-SVGs as dupes today, at least the few valid SVGs with a protected invalid source should be used as the contributors intended it. –Be..anyone (talk) 22:52, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[回复]

@Be..anyone: hogwash, Sarang uploaded a shorter valid Yes check.svg on 2014-03-05 three weeks before the current OptiYes check.svg, and the valid 2012 version by François Melchior now got credits in an {{Information}} as it should. Nothing to see here, move on. –Be..anyone (留言) 06:59, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[回复]

any no[编辑]

Where is the counterpart for this Yes_check? Where's the No_check with the same style? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.91.248.85 (talk) 12:46, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[回复]

Wikimedia colors[编辑]

Can we use wikimedia green colors for it? for the sake of consistency in UI. First stop should be #14866d and the second stop should be #00af89. If there is no objection, I'm going to reupload the new version and do it for the no icon as well. Amir (留言) 13:36, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]
