Description
Deutsch: Das Hauptgebäude der Österreichischen Nationalbank am Otto Wagner-Platz 3 im 9. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Alsergrund.
Das Bauwerk war ursprünglich nach Plänen des Architekten Leopold Bauer ab 1912/13 als Druckereigebäude der Österreichisch-Ungarischen Bank und als Teil eines großen Bankgebäudekomplexes auf den Gründen der demolierten Alser-Kaserne errichtet worden. Wegen des 1. Weltkriegs und dessen Folgen wurde nur der Rohbau fertiggestellt. 1923 entschied die Österreichische Nationalbank, dieses Gebäude zum Hauptsitz des Instituts umzubauen und beauftragte dazu die Architekten Rudolf Eisler und Ferdinand Glaser.
