For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Amerikanische Schlachtschiffe besuchen das erste Mal nach dem Kriege Deutschland! In Kiel traf das erste Mal nach dem Kriege ein aus den amerikanischen Schlachtschiffen "Arkansas", "Florida" und "Utah" bestehendes Geschwader unter Führung von Admiral Cluverzius ein. Von den deutschen Linienschiffen "Hessen" und "Schleswig Holstein" wurden zu ihrer Begrüßung 21 Schuss Salut gefeuert. - Der Commandeur der amerikanischen Schlachtschiffe Admiral Cluverius (links) an Bord des deutschen Linienschiffes "Schleswig Holstein" schreitet mit dem stellvertretenden Flottenchef der Ostsee-Station Admiral Förster (rechts) die Ehrenwache ab. |
