English: The historical coat of arms of Torontál county
Magyar: Torontál vármegye címere
Torontál vármegye címere csücskös talpú pajzs. A pajzsot részekre osztja egy pólya, amelyben II. J. M. T. betűk, II. József és Mária Terézia nevének kezdőbetűi láthatók.
A pajzs felső mezeje hasított. A jobb oldali vörös mezőben pártázott torony áll, nyitott kapuval, lőrésekkel. A vártornyon zászló leng, közepén egyenes oldalú talpas kereszttel. A bal oldali kék mezőben naparc tündököl.
A címerpajzs alsó mezeje ívelt oldalú ékkel harmadolt. A jobb és a bal oldali mező közepén egy-egy heraldikai rózsa lebeg, szirmokkal, levelekkel. Az ékben bőségszaruból gabonakalászok és színes gyümölcsök hullnak ki.
A gabonakalászok, a gyümölcsök és maga a bőségszaru is, amely a bőség, a termékenység szimbóluma, Torontál vármegye földjének gazdagságát, termékenységét jelenti. A címerpajzsot nyitott, igazgyönggyel, rubinnal és zafírral ékesített levélkorona díszíti. Pajzstartók: talapzaton jobbról sas, balról oroszlán, kiöltött nyelvvel.
Torontál vármegye területét az 1876. évi XXXIII. törvénycikk szabályozta, amennyiben az a Nagykikindai Kerületet alkotó tíz községet a vármegyéhez csatolta. E kiváltságos kerület a 17. századtól létezett, Mária Teréziától 1774-ben, I. Ferenctől 1817-ben kapott kiváltságlevelet. 1870 és 1876 között önálló törvényhatóságként működött (1870. évi XLIII. törvénycikk). Torontál vármegye címeres pecsétjét Mária Terézia adományozta 1779-ben, majd azt 1837-ben V. Ferdinánd újította meg magyar nyelvű körirattal: * TORONTÁL VÁRMEGYE PETSÉTJE 1779. MEG UJITATOT 1837.
