English: The coat of arms of Létavértes
Magyar: Létavértes címere
Címere: álló, csücskös talpú, a pajzstalpban vörössel és kékkel vágott pajzs. Felső (vörös) mezejében (homlokkal jobbra) arcos ezüst holdsarló lebeg, felette két hatágú aranycsillag között ezüstnyíl repül felfelé. A pajzstalp kék mezejében ezüstcsoroszlya lebeg hegyével jobbra, élével felfelé.
A pajzs felső élén vörös bélésű, természetes szegélyű és rostázatú, ezüstsisak helyezkedik el, nyakában fekete szalagon vörös medállal. A sisakkorona ötágú (három levél között két gyöngy) rubinokkal és zafírokkal ékesített.
A foszlányok: jobbról kék és arany, balról vörös és ezüst.
Ezt a címert a két település pecsétjeinek közös pajzsba foglalásával hívták életre. A vörös mezőben megjelenített szimbólumok Nagyléta valószínűleg 1609-ben elnyert pecsétjének fejlődésével alakultak ki.
Nagyléta falu a pecsétjét feltehetőleg hajdú kiváltságával együtt nyerte el. A félhold a török és a (török vazallus) erdélyi végvidék közelségét, a csillag pedig a helybeliek felemelkedését (vagy talán a kereskedő és vámhely mivoltát) jelzi. Az ég felé tartó nyíl talán templomának újjáépítésekor (1790-ben fejezték be), mintegy az üdvösség elnyerésének szándékát célozva, került a címerképbe. A vörös mező is jól illik hozzá, mivel a település neve vagy leto (kánikulai verőfényt idéző) 'nyár' szóból, vagy a Luta ('vad, bősz, könyörtelen') személynévből eredeztethető.
Vértes is régi település, a XIV. században már egyházas hely, a XV. században az álmosdi Csire (Chyre), a XVI. században a Szakolyi család birtokolta. A török időkben elpusztult és elnéptelenedett, s csak a XVIII. század elején települt újra, de mégis a XVII-XIX. században vagy másfél tucat birtokos kezén fordult meg. A csoroszlya a község mezőgazdasági jellegét hangsúlyozza, amelyhez a kék szín jól illik, ::ugyanis a település nevének jelentése "pajzskészítő" vagy "pajzshordozó" lehetett.
A város címerének grafikáját Bói István készítette, korábbi leírása Nyakas Miklóstól származik.
