Updated Road Signs Manual 2015

[edit]

Hi Fry,

First off, thanks a bunch for all the amazing work you've done regarding road signs! I was able to make use of your assets for the OpenStreetMap road signs page for Colombia (which was missing) and your images were of great help. In the process, I also noted that a new version of the road signs manual was released in 2015, and as a result some of the sign IDs used in your images now belong to a different pictogram, while some are missing. Whenever you may have some free time, the new manual is available as a 38-MB PDF, or the separate sections can be downloaded individually from here.

The images which you do have but the pictogram didn't match that of the linked manual were SI-32, SI-33, and SI-34. I also used a different image for SR-02 (Give way) as the text inside was missing in your version. Lastly, SR-25 seems to have a different shade of red than the rest.

Let me know if I can be of any help with translating. I'm not very knowledgeable with graphics, but if I can help out in any way, just let me know. Many thanks in advance! :)

@Aardila: , thank you very much for providing these new documents. I am still working on the SADC community, but it may be nice to take a break and work on another country for a while. If you ever have documents for other Latin American countries, I would be happy to see those too. I have the documents for Argentina, Brasil, Chile and Ecuador, but they are not all very good quality and that makes it difficult for me to upload the signs. Thank you once more :) Fry1989 eh? 19:12, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response. OSM keeps a list of the traffic sign documents for every country here. I'm not sure how up-to-date it is (if at all), but it's a starting point :) --Aardila (talk) 07:15, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here seems to be a similar document for Brasil as the one from Colombia --though the images are admittedly not as good since they appear to be raster :\ Here's the standardization manual for Ecuador, and here's the relevat section from the one for Chile (the whole manual is available for download here. Here's the one for Argentina . I'll keep looking! :) --Aardila (talk) 12:44, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That is wonderful, thank you very much. Fry1989 eh? 18:32, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Different silhouettes

[edit]

Are the silhouettes used in SR-24 and SP-45 supposed to be different? - VulpesVulpes42 (talk) 21:14, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm.....not actually sure. I'll have to take a look at the documents again. Fry1989 eh? 01:16, 13 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
