Proposed move

[edit]

The proposed move to Category:Altes Museum doesn't look very reasonable to me, as "Altes Museum" (= old museum) sounds quite generic. -- Túrelio 13:34, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The matter is not what it sounds like, but if there is ambiguity or not. As far as I know, there is absolutly no other museum in the world whose name is “Altes Museum”. So according to naming rules, the mention of the town should be removed. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 19:35, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Au temps pour moi. So I remove my moving request, since it appears there is actually ambiguity. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 17:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cleaning old move requests. The current name is more consistent with the German museum names and with the other Berliner museums as in Category:Museuminsel (Berlin).I would rather change the previous to Category:Museuminsel Berlin --Foroa (talk) 14:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Museum names do not seem to be very consistent for Germany, see Category:Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt or Category:Märkisches Museum (Witten). As the general usage is to separate a place and the city name for disambiguation, renaming would better for overall consistency. Of course, this also applies to Category:Neues Museum Berlin for instance. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 18:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is indeed a bit of a "soupe". In the mean time, it makes no sense to leave a move request here (the actual name is a lesser mix-up than the proposed) if you cannot propose a general scheme and move for all of them. (I would prefer the comma separated form as in Category:Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt). --Foroa (talk) 18:25, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving to "Altes Museum (Berlin)" makes sense. Marcus Cyron (talk) 00:53, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
