العربية: إن هذا النقش الملون يدوياً من أعمال أندريا بيرنيري ( ازدهر 1826-1842) ويصور الفرسان اليمنيين وهم يتدربون في ساحة إحدى الحصون. يقوم جندي يحمل بندقية بمراقبة الفرسان، ويظهر في الواجهة الأمامية المدنيون وهم يتابعون المشهد. كان بيرنيري أحد الرسامين الإيطاليين الذين ساهموا بأعمالهم في المجموعة المكونة من 15 مجلداً التي صممها غيليو فيراريو (1767-1847) بعنوان كوستوم أنتيكو إي مودرنو أو ستوريا ديل جوفرنو، ديلا ميليزيا، ديلا رليجيون، ديلا أرتي، سينز أيد أسانز دي توتس أي بوبولي أنتيخ أي موديرني (العادات القديمة والحديثة، أو تاريخ الحكومة والميليشيا والدين والفنون والعلوم وأساليب كل الأمم القديمة والحديثة) والذي نُشر في إيطاليا في 1823-1838. كان فيراريو ناشراً وطبّاعاً وصاحب مكتبة من ميلان، وقد احتوى عمله ذو القيمة الأثرية الكبيرة على أكثر من 1.500 لوحة ملونة يدوياً تصور الأزياء من الفترة الكلاسيكية خلال بداية القرن التاسع عشر، إضافة إلى الكثير من الرسوم والنقوش المعمارية. النقش هو اللوحة رقم 29 في آسيا، المجلد رقم 5 من عمل فيراريو. مأخوذ من مجموعة آن.أس.كي. براون العسكرية في مكتبة جامعة براون. English: Este grabado coloreado a mano de una obra de Andrea Bernieri (prosperó entre 1826 y 1842) representa a jinetes yemeníes con lanzas, ejercitándose en el patio de una fortaleza. Los jinetes son vigilados por un soldado que sostiene un fusil y, en primer plano, hay civiles mirando. Bernieri fue uno de los artistas italianos que contribuyó con sus obras a un conjunto de 15 volúmenes de Giulio Ferrario (1767-1847), titulado Il costume antico e moderno, o, storia del governo, della milizia, della religione, delle arti, scienze ed usanze di tutti i popoli antichi e moderni (Costumbres antiguas y modernas, o la historia del gobierno, la milicia, la religión, las artes, las ciencias y las costumbres de todas las naciones antiguas y modernas) publicado en Italia entre 1823 y 1838. Ferrario fue editor, impresor y bibliotecario de Milán, cuya monumental obra contenía más de 1500 láminas coloreadas a mano que representaban la ropa desde la época clásica hasta comienzos del siglo XIX, así como muchos dibujos arquitectónicos y grabados. The country of origin of this photograph is Italy. It is in the public domain there because its copyright term has expired. According to Law for the Protection of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights n.633, 22 April 1941 and later revisions, images of people or of aspects, elements and facts of natural or social life, obtained with photographic process or with an analogue one, including reproductions of figurative art and film frames of film stocks (Art. 87) are protected for a period of 20 years from creation (Art. 92). This provision shall not apply to photographs of writings, documents, business papers, material objects, technical drawings and similar products (Art. 87). Italian law makes an important distinction between "works of photographic art" and "simple photographs" (Art. 2, § 7). Photographs that are "intellectual work with creative characteristics" are protected for 70 years after the author's death (Art. 32 bis), whereas simple photographs are protected for a period of 20 years from creation.
