Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Gymnicus!

Please tell me why you've done this. We don't do it for every,or even many, buildings. If this has come from Wikidata, it makes no sense there, because it makes no sense here. It's contentious so requires a CfD. Please justify or revert yourself, or I will do so Rodhullandemu (talk) 14:11, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Rodhullandemu: I see such a category as useful and also in this case. In addition, I see your processing as more controversial because you did not conduct a CfD, at least there is no link to the category from any discussion. However, two other redirect categories linked or still linked to this category, which then became re-redirect categories, which shows that your editing was not thought through. You are still welcome to provide a CfD. --Gymnicus (talk) 14:26, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do I really come across to you people as some sort of fuckwit with an IQ of 18 rather than 180? I did what I did because with 13 years of experience here, it was the logical, sensible and therefore correct thing to do. It had already been screwed up by another editor without a CfD, so it didn't need one to fix it, and doesn't now. I shall have a cup of tea, then revert your erroneous edits. Rodhullandemu (talk) 14:33, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Rodhullandemu: I wouldn't advise you to do that. Go the regular way of the CfD or leave it. --Gymnicus (talk) 14:42, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Don't threaten me. We do occasionally follow Wikipedia here, even though it's usually unhelpful. So per en:WP:BRD, despite being unaware of the history, you were BOLD and moved all that stuff to make it fit with Wikidata. I shall REVERT to the previous version, then if you wish, you may DISCUSS by means of opening a CfD yourself, in particular addressing why we don't do this for churches but should do it for sports stadia. Thanks. Rodhullandemu (talk) 14:55, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Rodhullandemu: You want to remove a category or make the category for forwarding, which has existed under different names for seven years and does not bother anyone. That is why I see them as having the task of setting up the CfD, as they want to change this proven state. --Gymnicus (talk) 15:12, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Under different names". That's the whole point. We can't have people just coming along and selfishly changing things to their own preferences because they think it's a good idea. It makes the whole idea of categorisation unstable, which it should not be. Rodhullandemu (talk) 16:31, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Wikidata item is deleted. Start a CfD if you like. Rodhullandemu (talk) 16:36, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not edit war[edit]

Deutsch  English  français  italiano  magyar  português  sicilianu  русский  日本語  +/−

You currently appear to be participating in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, and once it is known that there is a disagreement should discuss the issues on the relevant talk page rather than repeatedly undoing other users’ contributions. If necessary you can ask for more input at Commons:Dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to ask for temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing – even if you are right about the content issue.

You do not revert to your own version before starting a CfD. Revert or go to AN/U. Rodhullandemu (talk) 17:38, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Rodhullandemu: You see that I can do this and you should hold back. Because what you are doing here is very controversial. You are explaining to me here that you made the category forwarding after the data object was deleted. But if you look at the edits you can see that this cannot be true. You made the category 16:33 for forwarding and the data object was only deleted at 16:34. So don't fool me here. --Gymnicus (talk) 17:49, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, you asked for it. Not a wise thing to do in my view. Last chance to revert your edits. Rodhullandemu (talk) 17:59, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It was more of a bad decision of you and not me. If you want to embarrass yourself, do the AN/U. --Gymnicus (talk) 18:04, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gymnicus, please understand that the two categories Category:Kirche Beiersdorf (Grimma) and Category:Linden bei Kirche Beiersdorf (Grimma) were connected. The lime trees belong to the church and the church stands by the lime trees. Please leave these categories connected. Your new category "Grimmaer Str 1a" cannot stay like this, please assign the correct data object in wikidata when creating a new street category. In Germany, streets and postal addresses are only categorized on Commons if the corresponding data object has also been linked. This would not be correct here, because the church is registered to this address, but the neighboring residential house actually has this postal address, but the church is not always occupied and therefore the mail is sent via the residential house address. The correct category for the street would be => Neue Grimmaer Straße (Q101088436). I will try to correct this accordingly. If you have any questions about the appropriate source information, please feel free to write to me. Thank you for your understanding with kind regards--Cookroach (talk) 21:49, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Spam/personal images[edit]

Hi. Thanks for nominating spam personal images for deletion. Next time instead of a full DR you can use Speedy Deletion - just tag them with {{SD|F10}}. Thanks for the help Gbawden (talk) 09:32, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Qwertzu111111 (talk) 09:07, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
