Crystal radios are just basic radios with four components and are still made by people for didactic reasons. They perfectly explain the basic principles of a radio and should be categorised under the root radio category. If needed, a category "antique crystal radios' could be made. --Foroa (talk) 06:06, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is already in the category "Radio receivers", so adding the category "radios" seems redundant. Or is there such a thing as crystal broadcasting equipment? Wondering, -- Infrogmation (talk) 11:58, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That is a real good question. It is a receiver, but most of the time, it cannot be tuned, has no real speakers and no volume controller, it plucks its energy from "the air". On the other hand, it is a precursor of all the types of radios you find underneath radios, so it should be higher up than radio receivers. I put it under radios for now, but you can move it as you wish; there is no perfect solution anyway without creating more detailed categories. --Foroa (talk) 12:57, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added Category:Antique crystal radios; should solve some of the problems, bring new ones... --Foroa (talk) 14:11, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
