Sean9064[edit]

I'm a editor from Mandarin (Chinese) wiki, want to fix typo in the File:DHCP session en.svg file, just like what I did for File:DHCP_session.svg in 2021. Thank you. Sean9064 (talk) 02:31, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sean9064: I've added the template to the file so you can now overwrite it. As far as your request for the autopatroller right, your edit count is too low right now. Abzeronow (talk) 16:02, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ixtal[edit]

Mainly an en-wiki editor, asking for autopatrol in order to replace the many images in Category:Kitāb Ṣuwar al-kawākib (al-thābitah) (Bodleian Library MS. Marsh 144) with higher-quality versions from the same source, as well as other works in the Bodleian Library with similar encyclopedic value which might benefit from similar improvements. If my edit count is too low I'd appreciate if I could get the permission on a temporary, trial basis for a month if possible. Ixtal (talk) 06:07, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Svenskbygderna[edit]

I am requesting autopatrol rights on Wikimedia Commons. I have made over 1,500 edits on Wikimedia Commons, including uploading images and creating categories. I lost the password to my old account, Pharexia, and am unable to correct errors in my uploads. I am an experienced editor and have a good understanding of Wikimedia Commons policies. I would like to be able to upload images without them being reviewed by other users. Please note I have also requested filemover rights on Wikimedia Commons, as I have held off on renaming files until I can also upload revisions of the files. Thank you. Hinnk[edit]

I've been working a lot with videos or film stills, where I often run into content that should be overwritten to use the correct aspect ratio. Thank you. hinnk (talk) 08:21, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

334a[edit]

Requesting because I tried to make an update to a file I've already edited a few years ago but was hit with a new (to me) "file overwriting not allowed" error message. Been editing Wikipedia projects for nearly two decades now: mostly the English Wiktionary and Classical Syriac Wikipedia, the latter of which I am an administrator. Occasionally edit the Commons but I would honestly rather just have autopatrol rights rather than going through the hassle of making requests when I have to. Thank you. 334a (talk) 16:05, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Iwaqarhashmi[edit]

I'd like to have the autopatrol right so I could contribute to improving image quality by uploading higher-resolution versions of existing photos. I've noticed several instances where higher resolution or clearer photos could be uploaded to replace existing, lower-quality versions. Thank you. Waqar💬 17:08, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tintazul[edit]

I have started collaborating with Commons in 2017. I now have over 4,000 edits, including over 1,000 photos uploaded. I'm requesting Autopilot privileges because I was trying to upload a less saturated version of Image:Big_cat_is_big_(52132560303).jpg (which looks really icky! that's a terrible job on a great photo) and it would be good to be able to do so without having to request for specific photo permission. Thank you. – Tintazul talk 08:32, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Taro2968332[edit]

I post freely licensed images that are published on websites by governments such as Japan and US. Sometimes I find higher quality versions of images on Wikimedia Commons. I tried to overwrite it with a higher quality version, but I can't because it's not allowed. So I request autopatroller right. I would like to contribute to Wikimedia Commons as an autopatroller Thank you. Taro2968332 (talk) 09:33, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mac1405[edit]

Hi there! I would like to upload a new version of the file Vfl-osnabrueck-chart01.jpg, as I did it in 2020 and 2021 with this Username! But surprisingly, I dont have the rights. Thank you. Mac1405 (talk) 10:46, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArtSmir[edit]

I just want to get auto patrol status. It would be interesting to try new features. I am confident that my experience allows me to obtain these rights. Thank you. ArtSmir (talk) 23:29, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dactylantha[edit]

I would like to apply a deletion notice in bulk to a category of images that I am appealing to be removed due to incorrect copyright status - Category:Images_from_Auckland_Museum_marked_with_cultural_permissions as per my request at Commons:Deletion_requests/Category:Images_from_Auckland_Museum_marked_with_cultural_permissions. There are ~2500 images requiring this notice as per the deletion request requirements, and OpenRefine seems untenable as a batch editing option as the reconciliation service currently has a bug that has stopped me from doing any editing to that category. Of course, if there is an alternative to AutoWikiBrowser I would be happy to hear it - anything is better than copy and pasting 2500 times! Thank you. Dactylantha (talk) 01:47, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dactylantha, you could request that job to be done on Commons:Bots/Work requests. --Achim55 (talk) 18:31, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

RodRabelo7[edit]

Having been an autopatroller and rollbacker for quite some time now, I believe I can confidently distinguish between a constructive edit and one that constitutes vandalism or, at the very least, has not been made in good faith. In this sense, I am willing to become a patroller in order to assist patrolling new edits, file uploads, and page creations. Thank you, RodRabelo7 (talk) 20:34, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

TechnoSquirrel69[edit]

I'm requesting rollback rights to assist with the increasing amount of counter-vandalism I'm doing on this project. I have several months of experience with the tool on the English Wikipedia and a few more doing cross-wiki counter-vandalism work. I have read the rollback guideline and will follow it in good faith to the best of my ability. Let me know if you have any questions! (please ping me on reply, thanks!) Militum professio scriniarii[edit]

As a military archivist, I regularly see many files incorrectly named - ranging from basic typos, incorrect military units or terminology - right through to the obviously meaningless or ambiguous names. I have made a significant number of rename requests, and to the best of my knowledge, have never had a rename request rejected. However, I am aware that I might sometimes overload current filemovers (I sometimes see backlogs), so I would be happy to take on the role myself. Thank you. Militum professio scriniarii (talk) 11:12, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wait I just declined several renaming requests, they were not completely wrong but not fully appropriate either. This person is probably a good candidate but I feel it's a bit too early. Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 12:17, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Svenskbygderna[edit]

I am requesting Filemover status on Commons. I have made over 1,500 edits on Commons and 2,000 on Wikipedia. I am an experienced editor and have a good understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I would like to be able to move files to correct names and to help with file maintenance tasks. Specifically, I am wanting to rename a lot of Minnesota map files to have a consistent naming scheme. Thank you. Svenskbygderna (talk) 15:59, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any recent renaming requests. (I also will note that I just granted you the autopatroller right). So you might want to show the need for the file moving tool. Abzeronow (talk) 17:44, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the response. I have just demonstrated in my recent naming requests what I intend to use this renaming right for. Svenskbygderna (talk) 20:33, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hehua[edit]

Hello, I plan to use this right to move the meaningless files in cat:Harbin. I made over 1000 edits in commons and I was a filemover in zhwiki before it canceled this right. Thank you. Hehua (talk) 15:38, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
