Commons:WikiProject Flickr
This WikiProject aims to be a place to discuss the use of Flickr images on Commons and all that is related. Flickr is a free photo hosting site, that offers their users to select a free license for their photographs. Currently over 20,000 Flickr images reside at Commons. A somewhat approved policy is located at Commons:Flickr files.
Reviewing
[edit]As per Commons:Flickr files, all Flickr images on Commons that were not uploaded by FlickrLickr need to be reviewed. This work is done by the bot FlickreviewR, administrators and community approved users.
Request review
[edit]Eventually all images will be reviewed. If you are in a hurry to have your images reviewed, because you want to use them for example on an featured article, you can request here. Reviewers, please remove the images you have reviewed.
Discussing reviews
[edit]If you are a reviewer and suspect that there is a problem with an image, you can discuss the image at the talk page.
Becoming a reviewer
[edit]You can become a reviewer in two ways. One way is to become an administrator; the more likely way to succeed is to request community approval on this page. For more information, see Commons:Flickr files/reviewers.
Current issues
[edit]- On 30 March 2015, Flickr announced it now allows users to specify Public Domain Mark 1.0 and CC0 licenses. This means that a lot of Commons documentation is now out of date - see COM:EIC#Flickr. In addition, several of the tools and automated review systems need upgrading.
