Participating with a smartphone

[edit]

I don't really have a working standalone camera, would it be acceptable if I would try to participate using a smartphone ๐Ÿ“ฑ as my "camera of choice"? --Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€ (No Fake News ๐Ÿ’ฌ) (WikiProject Numismatics ๐Ÿ’ด) (Articles ๐Ÿ“š) 11:10, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Donald Trung: , you can click with whichever device you want. The images uploaded for the contest does not need to be current images. It can be the old images that match with our theme of festivals, ceremonies and rituals of love. Hope that clarifies! Wiki Love from WLL Team. Wikilover90 (talk) 13:12, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding my name...

[edit]

The instructions say that one should add # ~~~~ but this only adds, well... #Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€ (No Fake News ๐Ÿ’ฌ) (WikiProject Numismatics ๐Ÿ’ด) (Articles ๐Ÿ“š) 16:51, 27 December 2018 (UTC) in my case. Also I don't know which "Country" I should add as I have both a Vietnamese and an Australian passport but at the moment (and in February) I physically reside in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, should I the place where I will be taking photographs? Also I am not a member of any user group (unless y'all would count "unaffiliated (hobby) photographer" ), should I just leave this blank? --Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€ (No Fake News ๐Ÿ’ฌ) (WikiProject Numismatics ๐Ÿ’ด) (Articles ๐Ÿ“š) 16:51, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€, you can simply upload the images with Wiki Loves Love Upload Wizard. There is no need to add your name as participant separately. Also, which country code you choose while uploading depends on your choice. We would suggest choosing the country from which the photograph was originally taken.Wikilover90 (talk) 17:05, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikilover90: , this was actually resolved in December, but thank you for replying. --Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€ (No Fake News ๐Ÿ’ฌ) (WikiProject Numismatics ๐Ÿ’ด) (Articles ๐Ÿ“š) 17:40, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Participating for fun

[edit]

I just read the FAQ and saw this their is money involved, honestly I don't want to participate for the money, is their a way how I can just take pictures for the competition without being considered for the prizes? I just want to participate to see how these photo challenges work, I don't have any particular desire to win ๐Ÿ† anything from them. --Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€ (No Fake News ๐Ÿ’ฌ) (WikiProject Numismatics ๐Ÿ’ด) (Articles ๐Ÿ“š) 08:06, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€,in case your photograph is selected as one of the winning photographs, you can choose to forgo the prizes but still be the winner. Hope that helps! Wikilover90 (talk) 17:01, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikilover90: , alright, thanks for the information โ„น, but I'll probably wait a bit closer to St. Valentine's day as then love-themed imagery will be more abundant. --Donald Trung ใ€Žๅพตๅœ‹ๅ–ฎใ€ (No Fake News ๐Ÿ’ฌ) (WikiProject Numismatics ๐Ÿ’ด) (Articles ๐Ÿ“š) 17:41, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
