Amzi Benedict Davenport, was born inNew Canaan, Fairfield County, Ct., October 30, 1817,and studied at the village Academy of his native town.* * This classical school was established in 1815. Among thenumber of those, who, for a short time after their graduation atYale College, taught at this Institution, and who have since be-come eminent, may be mentioned Kev. Milton Badger, D. In 1886 he removed to Brooklyn, N.
