English: School children on Camp Shaheen got a surprise today when German Col. Ralf Kneflowski, part of the Command Staff for Regional Support Command-North, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan arrived at their school, Dec, 6. The children were also introduced to Afghan National Army personnel who had first hand
knowledge about unexploded ordinance. They were shown examples of land mines, bomb casings and more. They then were given a tour of the specialized equipment that the team uses to find and clear away UXOs. At the end of the event Kneflowski spoke to the children about the importance of everything they had learned that morning. |
