Antalis ceratum (Röding, 1798) - lateral view of a waxy tusk shell, 2.0 cm tall. Scaphopods are semi-infaunal marine molluscs with a single, calcareous, narrow, tubular, slightly tapering, open-ended shell having a ~circular cross-section. They are deposit feeders and also prey on foraminiferans. Classification: Animalia, Mollusca, Scaphopoda, Dentaliidae |
