English: Approaching Bryn Marchog on the edge of Coed Mynydd-mawr This house is named on successive OS 1:10,560 plans from 1891 onwards as Bryn Marchog (=knight's hill). A former resident writes, however, that for many years this roadside house on the edge of Coed Mynydd-mawr (=big mountain woods) has been known locally as Coed Helen. |
