Cabi-nets 116 & 117 contain a highly valuable Collection of carved andpainted caskets of the Gothic period; Cab.-120, objects in cutleather, including a beautiful octagonal *Box of the 14th cent.,from Bale, with representations of love-scenes; Cab. 105, Mediaevalbronzes; Cab. 115, Early mediaeval and oriental ivory carvings.—R. X. Ecclesiastical objects (chiefly Gothic). Wall 100, *Flemishtapestry with gold threads (15th cent.). In the cabinets: mediaevalworks in metal (chiefly ecclesiastical), enamels from the LowerRhine and Limoges (ll-13th cent.), crosses, censers, and ewers. —R. XL Tapestry and furniture of the early Renaissance, mainlyfrom Burgundy and the Lower Rhine. In the Window-Frames 95and 96 and in Cab. 97 is an admirable collection of boxwood carv-ings, mostly goldsmiths models. Adjacent, *Ribbon-weavers framecarved in boxwood (Nuremberg: ca. 1550); in the middle, top of a tablepainted by H. S. Beham in 1534 (copy of the original in the Louvre).
