Description

Hazard Beach, Montaña de Oro State Beach, California - Many people are interested in seeing a bloated whale. The Humpback Whale has changed drastically since its arrival on the beach beach 5 days ago. Gases such as ammonia, methane, and sodium nitrate buildup as the mammals viscera and stomach contents decompose.

The whale is now on its back with its underside exposed. For this poor whale, the world has turned upside down.
