Description
Deutsch: 612 in Fernbahnanstrich vor der Mehrzweckhalle mit Radsatzdrehbank.

Die Wagen erhielten den weißen Anstrich und eine etwas veränderte Inneneinrichtung, weil sie an Stelle der erfolglosen Diesel-ICE der Reihe 605 zwischen Dresden und Nürnberg eingesetzt werden sollten. Auch dieser Betrieb lief nicht lange, weil er von den potentiellen Nutzern als Mogelpackung angesehen und wegen des im Vergleich zum Regionalverkehr deutlich ungünstigereren Tarifs nach Möglichkeit gemieden wurde.

Die Triebwagen behielten ihre abweichenden Ordnungsnummern auch nach der Rückkehr in den Regio-Bestand mit rotem Anstrich. Auffallend sind zwei Tankstutzen nebeneinander, einmal für den Treibstoff und aus steuerlichen Gründen getrennt für Heizöl.
