English: Dartmoor: Cox Tor Triangulation Pillar The Ordnance Survey's archived OSGB36 co-ordinates of this triangulation pillar are Easting 253067.547, Northing 76176.930, and the height of the flush bracket (not visible in this image) is 441.960 metres above sea level.
Caught in a rare lifting of the cloud base on the day, the distant tors are Roos Tor to the left at 454 metres and Great Staple Tor to the right at 455 metres. The former is in SX5476 while the latter straddles the gridline between SX5476 and SX5475. |
