English: Tom and Romayne McGinnis, parents of the late Spc. Ross McGinnis, stand before a mannequin replica of their son after he was presented as a Medal of Honor recipient during a dedication ceremony held at the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division headquarters Dec. 7. McGinnis was an infantryman assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment. While deployed to Adamiyah, Iraq, McGinnis saved the lives of four fellow Soldiers by taking most of the impact from a grenade that had entered their vehicle. Along with the Medal of Honor and the unveiling, the ceremony also honored McGinnis through the rededication of the company operations facilities. |
